Wild morning glories

They grow along the road where I walk.

Their purpose seems to be to greet the traveller and say "Good Morning.  I hope you have a lovely day".

Rain

What could be lovelier than to hear the summer rain
Cutting across the heat, as scythes cutting across grain?

Lilacs before the storm

Sometimes you learn of a new technique - look outside and see that the conditions are perfect to try it - snap the picture - look at the screen - and think "OMG I can't believe it works that well".

An Old Stump

I took this photo at Assiniboine Park in Winnipeg.  It reminded me of the last stanza of Shel Silverstein's poem/children's book, The Giving Tree.

"Well," said the tree, straightening
herself up as much as she could,
"well, an old stump is good for sitting and resting
Come, Boy, sit down. Sit down and rest."
And the boy did.
And the tree was happy.
