Old Typewriter

I saw this old typewriter at a museum and it made me wonder if we were more careful with language when it was so much more work.

There is nothing to writing.  All you do is sit down at a typewriter and bleed.

Illusive spring

Spring is somewhat illusive.  Occasionally Mother Nature teases us and offers up a frosty morning which usually means the temperature is somewhat warmer and there is humidity in the air. The thought of snapping a photo without freezing one's fingers .... ahh!  Happiness!

"The first day of spring is one thing, and the first spring day is another.  The difference between them is sometimes as great as a month."

1st day of spring

I found this quote by Mark Twain and thought it was so appropriate for this year's first day of spring:

In the spring I have counted 136 different kinds of weather inside of 24 hours.

Springtime

Winds of March we welcome you,
There is work for you to do.
Work and play and blow all day,
Blow the winter wind away.

Angles

Photography Challenge Week 10: Angle

The "angle" I chose to focus on this week is showing "angles" while taking photos from an unusual angle.  This goal was pre-empted by the gorgeous springtime weather.  I decided to tell the story of the coming spring using different angles.

What a great day to stand on grass instead of snow.

The snow was melting on the bleachers at the ball diamond.  I lifted my camera as high as possible to snap this shot.  I wanted to show the snow melting on the bleachers with the ball diamond in the background.

"If there is one secret to success, it lies in the ability to get the other person's point of view, and see things from that person's angle as well as your own."

Music memories

Music, at its essence, is what gives us memories.  And the longer a song has existed in our lives, the more memories we have of it.

Blue

Photography Challenge Week 8: Blue

I was thinking about what image to capture for this challenge while I was driving.  I looked out the window and realized blue is the colour of cold, and we are living in a blue world.  I jumped out of the car and stood at the side of the road in the howling wind to capture a quick shot of this blue world.

Cold medicine, which got me through the first half of the week.

Forgotten scarf

We are all so sick of winter, but there are still lovely images to capture.

Now is the winter of our discontent.
